A 35-year-old man vanished into the waves after falling overboard on a cruise ship off the coast of Florida, the U.S. Coast Guard said.

The man fell off a Carnaval Magic cruise ship on Monday, May 29, according to a statement on Twitter from the U.S. Coast Guard Southeast. The ship was about 186 miles east of Jacksonville when the man went overboard, according to officials.

Since he vanished off the side of the ship, the Coast Guard has searched more than 4,000 square miles over 19 hours using air and water assets, according to the tweet.

The air search will be suspended at sunset on May 30 but officials will continue to search on the water, according to the Coast Guard.
