“I go every day to play numbers and I was off by one. So, I decided to try a scratch-off since I came so close. I was feeling lucky,” the Vietnam veteran told officials.
His second $20 scratch-off ticket paid off: He won a $50,000 top prize, according to officials.
The winner said he didn’t believe his prize when he first saw it.
“I said to myself, ‘You got to be kidding me!’ I couldn’t believe it,” he told officials.
The man plans to pay bills with his prize, officials said.
