A Maryland lottery player found his lucky numbers — and he is sticking to them.

Back in May, the self-proclaimed “Big Winner” used a five-digit number in the Pick 5 lottery game, he told Maryland lottery officials April 19.

The number hit the jackpot, and the 52-year-old truck driver took home a $50,000 prize.

But he didn’t just win once.

He had played the same numbers on two separate tickets in the same drawing, and both were winners. He doubled his prize, taking home $100,000, lottery officials said in May.

“I play the lottery all the time. You never know. You can’t win if you are not in it,” he told lottery officials.

The big winner kept playing the Pick 5 game throughout 2022 using the same number, lottery officials said.

Nearly a year after his first two wins, he won again April 13.

“It hit last year and it hit again,” he told lottery officials. “My wife said, ‘Let’s play this number’ and we keep winning with it.”

The winner took home another $50,000 prize, his third in 11 months, officials said.

Lottery officials said the “Big Winner” plans to use the money to take his wife on a “much-needed vacation” from their Charles County home.

Charles County is just south of the Potomac River, about 35 miles from Washington, D.C.
