An “elusive” Dunkin’ favorite has earned a permanent spot on the coffee shop’s menu.

Butter Pecan Swirl will return to Dunkin’ as a permanent addition starting April 26, the national doughnut chain announced in a news release.

Typically a limited-time offering, the flavor swirl features “notes of butter roasted pecan and sweet cream,” according to a product description. Customers can add it to hot or iced coffee, espresso, cold brew drinks and frozen coffee.

Butter Pecan Swirl debuted in 2013 and has amassed a loyal fan following in the years since its release, the company said. It’s the cafe’s “second most sought-after flavor,” prompting several online petitions calling for it to become a permanent item.

“The requests from guests and our Dunkin’ teammates to make this Swirl a regular offering are staggering,” Jill McVicar Nelson, chief marketing officer at Dunkin’, said in a statement.

“We’re thrilled to finally grant their wish, making this a permanent delight for Dunkin’ fans to savor all year long,” Nelson said.

The news comes just weeks after Dunkin’ added breakfast tacos to menus nationwide.
