Grubhub users ordered these dishes the most in 2022. Did your favorite make the list?
Grubhub users couldn’t stop craving one food — and it now ranks as the delivery service’s most popular dish of the year.
Burritos were ordered more often than any other dish on the platform in 2022, according to nationwide results published Wednesday, Dec. 14.
“Diners stuck to the comfort that layered gooey goodness brought directly to hearts, bellies, and doorsteps,” Grubhub wrote in its report. “Jumping all the way from No. 8 last year, diners packed their burritos with everything from sausage and eggs to guac and sour cream.”
Across the United States, people ordered over 4 million burritos, with ingredients served in bowls or wrapped in tortillas, the company said. But the dish wasn’t the only filling food that people were craving.
Here are the other foods that topped the list:
- Cheeseburgers at No. 2
- Cheese pizza at No. 3
- Pad thai at No. 4
- Chicken quesadillas at No. 5
“By analyzing millions of orders from diners this year, it’s clear that comfort inspired what we ate,” Grubhub wrote.
To come up with the findings, the website said it studied U.S. orders placed in 2022 and also examined year-over-year trends. Here are some other highlights from Grubhub users:

- Top lunch food: Burrito
- Top late-night food: Chicken quesadillas
- Top dessert: Tiramisu
- Top alcohol: Beer
- Top coffee: Iced coffee

The results come after many people turned to delivery services to get food and other necessities during shutdowns earlier in the coronavirus pandemic, McClatchy News reported.
