Stunning castle’s ‘House of the Dragon’ vibe sets Zillow Gone Wild on fire. See why

Castles on the real estate market in the U.S. can verge on, well, ostentatious.

But this castle-like residence listed for $12.5 million in Westport, Connecticut has an interior that’s tasteful yet regal enough to make people say “whoa.”

“Privacy and security surround this gated stone castle,” the listing on William Raveis Real Estate says. “Set in an estate area of Westport on two separate parcels, this home has every feature desired in a family compound.”

Its exterior is definitely a conversation starter thanks to the vast lawn space, lit courtyard, and scattered greenery. The property is divided into two parcels, one with the primary, 11,000-square-foot home, the second with the caretaker’s cottage.

Features of the first parcel include:

  • Outdoor pool

  • Indoor pool

  • Pool house

  • Tennis court

  • Hidden rooms

Thanks to its dramatic high ceilings and striking decor, the main, six-bedroom house caught the attention of Zillow Gone Wild, a social media real estate page known for its facetious comments on unique houses for sale. However, most fans were impressed by this particular castle, which was posted specifically for “House of the Dragon” Sundays.

“For #zgwcastlefridays and #HouseOfTheDragon, here’s a really cool castle in Westport, CT,” the caption with the photos announced.

“This would be my office. I’d have all my ZOOM calls right here — so when people looked at my background they’d endlessly wonder, ‘Is that real?’” one person said of the home’s great room. “They’ll never know.”

“I normally hate these castle type houses, but this place is awesome,” another gushed. “I love every bit of it!”

“I like the tasteful decor,” someone said.

“As far as these ‘castle builds’ go, this one is reasonably tastefully done,” one person observed.

“The heating bills for this place are probably more than my salary,” another noted.

“This is super amazing, and I would take it in a heartbeat!” someone said.

“Finally! A castle that is livable and not cheesy,” another person said.

The listing is held by Meredith Cohen.

Westport is 55 miles northeast of New York City.
