80-year-old woman out for a walk mauled to death by two dogs, California cops say
An 80-year-old woman died in an attack by two dogs on a Southern California street, sheriff’s officials reported.
Deputies found the woman’s body in a Baldy Mesa street at 11:09 a.m. Friday, Oct. 7, the San Bernardino County sheriff’s office reported in a news release.
The woman, identified as Soon Han, had been out for a walk when a neighbor’s two dogs attacked her, the release said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The dogs are described by sheriff’s officials as being of the Dogo Argentino breed
A Dogo Argentino is “a pack-hunting dog, bred for the pursuit of big-game such as wild boar and puma,” according to the American Kennel Club. It can reach up to 100 pounds.
The owner is cooperating with the investigation, sheriff’s officials said.
San Bernardino County Animal Control are holding the dogs during the investigation, the release said.
Baldy Mesa is a community in the Victor Valley of the Mojave Desert, about 35 miles north of San Bernardino.
