EA Sports dropped a bombshell via Twitter on Wednesday, Sept. 21, which has fans of the Apple+ award-winning series “Ted Lasso” beyond excited.

The video game empire announced that gamers will be able to play as the fictional lovable head coach of AFC Richmond (and, of course, as the team itself) in its latest soccer game, which releases Sept. 30.

The official Ted Lasso subreddit hinted that the team will be featured in the newest version of the popular video game, according to Dexerto.com, which posted a screenshot of the fictional team between Premier League teams AFC Bournemouth and Arsenal on Sept. 14.

The official “Ted Lasso” twitter account even hinted at it.

And, of course, fans are thrilled.

The Emmy award-winning comedy, starring Jason Sudeikis and Hannah Waddingham, has its first three seasons available to watch on Apple+.
