A residence that appears to be lacking, well, quite a bit, is making people scratch their heads after it was put on the Washington, D.C. real estate market for $499,000.
On paper, the four-bedroom, two-bathroom, 2,497-square-foot home in the Anacostia neighborhood appears to be a decent grab. But when combing through the photos, something pretty major stands out — the inside appears to have fire damage.
“Investor Alert!” the listing on Zillow.com says. “Great rehab opportunity in Hot Anacostia neighborhood. House has in-law suite, one block from metro, big backyard, great location. Value of similar houses up to $899K. Come see while you can!”
The home, and its cost, caught the attention of #FridayNightZillow, a fun Twitter segment run by Bloomberg reporter Steven Dennis.
“Yikes,” one person simply said.
“This would be a dope renovation project… major potential to be a beautiful home again,” another tweeted.
“Vintage starter home...” someone said.
“And that’s still above my budget,” one person observed.
“Love the skylight!” another tweeted.
“Pretty sure someone just took graphics from one of the houses in ‘The Last of Us’ and created a Zillow listing,” someone joked.”
