Circle K is giving drivers a break at the pump with discounted gas — for one day only.

The convenience store chain is offering 40 cents off per gallon of gas on Thursday, Sept. 1, at participating Circle K branded fuel stations nationwide, according to a news release.

The “Fuel Day” discount will be available from 4-7 p.m. at more than 3,600 locations as drivers gear up for the Labor Day holiday weekend.

“It’s been a challenging summer for travel, so we want to thank our customers for their loyalty by offering them additional savings ahead of the busy holiday weekend, ending the summer on a high note,” Nathan Woodland, head of North America category fuels at Circle K, said in a statement.

Drivers have found some relief at the pump as gas prices trend downward. The national average for a gallon of regular gas was $3.82 as of Thursday, Sept. 1, according to AAA. That’s 5 cents cheaper than this time last week.
