Ever want to live in a giant shoe? You can at this soon-to-be Airbnb in Pennsylvania
One day soon, you, too, can be like the old lady who lived in a shoe.
An icon in Pennsylvania — the Haines Shoe House — is being transformed into an Airbnb.
The shoe house in York currently offers guided tours through its five levels, locally made ice cream in its parlor, and even “shoe-venirs” from its gift store, according to its website.
Located just off Route 30, the house is about 90 miles west of Philadelphia.
The shoe home was originally built in 1948 by “The Shoe Wizard” Mahlon Haines, according to the site’s Facebook. Haines owned a shoe store chain in Pennsylvania and Maryland, Fox 43 reported.
Currently, the giant shoe is owned by Jeff Schmuck who posted about the upcoming changes on Facebook, per Fox 43.
“The new owners are a local family,” the Facebook post says, and plan to maintain the “museum feel and artifacts” while making the site into an Airbnb.
The last day of its current operations will be Sunday, July 24, so if you ever wanted to see this iconic site, “now is the time,” according to the Facebook post.
