‘Quick-thinking’ mom tracks car stolen with child using phone left inside, CA cops say

A woman’s car was stolen with her child inside it after she got out to check on a flat tire in California, police said.

The woman’s car was stolen around 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 1, in Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

She called police but was able to find her stolen car by tracking her cellphone, which she had left inside the car, police said.

Officers and a helicopter then found the child and the stolen car.

Police said the woman’s “quick-thinking” led to the arrest of a woman in the theft of the car.
