HGTV’s 2022 Dream Home is a sleek cabin in Vermont – and it can be yours. Here’s how
Sophisticated style and the wildness of the outdoors collide in HGTV’s 2022 Dream Home in Warren, Vermont. This home marks the 26th house HGTV will give away to one lucky viewer since the contest began in 1997.
And this year’s home in particular is a doozy.
The smoky-colored, two-story cabin stands out aesthetically against the beautiful backdrop of the varicolored Vermont mountains and trees.
“I live in a black cabin up in the mountains of Georgia, and people have commented for years how it’s become their own dream to have a mashup of rustic and elegant lifestyles together, and this house embodies both,” designer Brian Patrick Flynn told People magazine regarding the home.
“[Designing] it was like living out my own Scandinavian cabin dreams! The house sits up high in the Vermont mountains, and the overall architecture is best described as a luxury cabin with sweeping mountain views and tons of amazing outdoor living space. It’s overall understated and livable with modern touches.”
Along with Scandinavian inspiration, Flynn also looked to the location as a muse.
“We took the classic Vermonter lifestyle into consideration,” he said. “Any chance we could we wanted to add stuff that was local,” Flynn said, according to the Burlington Free Press.
Features of the home highlighted in the news release include:
Sleek two-sided living room fireplace
All-season sunroom
Private guest suite with kitchenette
Loft for more guests
Heated pool
Views galore
