‘You are an enemy.’ Gene Simmons of KISS slams ‘evil people’ who refuse COVID vaccine
Gene Simmons did not hold back in his disdain for people unvaccinated against COVID-19, calling them an “enemy.”
The bassist and co-lead singer for the legendary group KISS recently returned from the band’s cruise vacation, but said in an appearance on Talkshoplive’s Rock ‘N’ Roll channel that many people were turned away because they were not vaccinated.
The KISS Kruise set sale Oct. 29 from Miami and returned Nov. 2. All guests on the cruise, which was on a Norwegian Cruise Line boat, were required to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
“If you’re willing to walk among us unvaccinated, you are an enemy,” the 72-year-old Simmons said Nov. 10.
KISS announced Aug. 31 it had to postpone four tour dates after Simmons tested positive for COVID-19. He experienced mild symptoms while he had the virus, which followed the positive test from frontman Paul Stanley. The band returned to performing live Sept. 9.
In his Nov. 10 interview, Simmons said unvaccinated people “are not allowed to infect anybody just because you think you’ve got rights that are delusional.”
“This whole idea, this delusional, evil idea that you get to do whatever you want and the rest of the world be damned is really terrible,” he added.
His thoughts are not based on any political beliefs. Simmons called both Democrats and Republicans “evil.”
“I don’t like either one of them. Politics are the enemy,” he said. “Humanism and humanity is what we should all be concerned about. Love thy neighbor as thyself.”
“I don’t care if you play football or not — stay away from evil people who don’t care about your health,” he added in a possible reference to Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
Stanley has also been critical of people unvaccinated against COVID-19. On Sept 2. while quarantining, he said his “freedom” should not jeopardize “other people’s health.”
He credited being fully vaccinated in helping him recover from the virus.
