Prominent NASCAR team owner selling home in fly-in community near Daytona. Take a look
NASCAR team owner Richard Childress has put up his Florida home near Daytona Beach for sale for $1.295 million, according to Premier Sotheby’s International Realty.
The home, which Childress bought from fellow NASCAR Hall of Famer Mark Martin in 2013, is a golf course residence located in Port Orange and just short drive to Daytona Beach, where NASCAR’s official headquarters is located.
According to Yahoo Finance, Childress is selling the house for $300,000 more than what he paid for it.
According to the original listing, the two-story house is a marvel of elegance inside the Spruce Creek Fly-In Community, which offers a 4,000-foot runway for private aircraft.
“With its stunning interior design and sought-after location, this residence offers a unique living experience for a passionate aviator and discerning buyer,” Rachel McGrath, the real estate agent for Premier Sotheby’s, told Orlando Business Journal.
According to the original listing, the house has an outdoor living room and a wet bar, along with “plenty of room to add a pool.”
Childress is the chairman and CEO of Richard Childress Racing, a NASCAR team he founded in 1969 while he was a driver, according to RCR Racing. He was inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame in 2017.
