Kohl’s joins growing list of retailers that will close on Thanksgiving Day

Kohl’s announced Wednesday that it will close its stores on Thanksgiving Day, following moves from several other retailers.

Kohl’s said it’s opting to close on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 26, due to changing customer preferences during the coronavirus pandemic.

“Given the importance of safety and convenience, we expect more customers to shop earlier, search for great deals throughout the season, and take advantage of our online and omnichannel conveniences,” the retailer said.

Kohl’s said further information on its holiday schedule will be released in the future.

The decision comes after retailers including Best Buy, Target, Walmart and Sam’s Club announced they would be closing their stores on Thanksgiving Day.
