Is this really the acronym for Subaru’s new Forester? The internet is loving it, regardless

A new edition of the Subaru Forester was unveiled this week and its acronym is raising eyebrows.

The Forester Ultimate Customised Kit Special edition made its debut at the 2020 Singapore Motor Show, Auto Blog reported.

The show runs from Jan. 9 to 12 in Toa Payoh, the event site says.

Photos of the bright blue sport utility vehicle show its name emblazoned across the podium and it didn’t take long for people to notice the acronym spells a certain R-rated expletive: F---S.

A representative for Subaru told McClatchy News the Forester Ultimate Customised Kit Special edition is the product of an independent distributor.

As news of the Subaru F---S edition spread, Twitter caught hold of it and hilarity ensued.

“If it doesn’t sell well, they can say ‘No F(---)S given,’” one user wrote.

“The original Shaggin’ Wagon.”

“Careful, that can lead to an STI,” another wrote, invoking the acronym for the company’s motor-sport and performance vehicle offshoot: Subaru Tecnica International.

Beyond its name, Top Gear Philippines called the car a “head-turner” thanks to its exterior red trim and dark interior, replete with red stitching and “soft-touch” suede and leather along the side panels and dashboard.

Some are skeptical the name is legitimate.

“No way this is true,” one user wrote.

Only time will tell if the Subaru F---S edition is legitimate, but in the meantime, enjoy the Internet’s reaction.
