During her testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committe about allegations of sexual assault against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, Dr. Christine Blasey Ford mentioned that there are GoFundMe accounts to help raise money for security expenses.

And after that, the money started pouring in for Ford.

A GoFundMe account — titled “Help Christine Blasey Ford” — has so far earned $350,000 as of 3 p.m. Thursday, well above the $150,000 initial goal. The money “is going directly to the Ford Family,” the page says.

“This is all really expensive and she needs our help,” the page reads. “We need to protect the voices of brave people who speak out - especially when they are part of our community.”

According to The Wall Street Journal, the page sat at $179,000 raised at one point during the hearing — then half-an-hour later was at $305,000. It continues to climb.

There is another GoFundMe page for Kavanaugh, and it has so far raised just under $50,000 of its $100,000 goal.
