Players from Miami and Hialeah among Saturday’s 4 South Florida lottery winners

Editor's Note: All of Saturday’s Florida Lottery big money draw game luck concentrated itself in South Florida with four winners.

None of those winners won the Powerball big prize, which raises to $225 million for Monday’s drawing. Nor, did anyone hit the proper Florida Lotto numbers for the top prize, now $2 million for Wednesday’s draw.

The Fantasy 5 evening drawing popped up 5, 11, 15, 24 and 35, a popular choice by man and machine. Those numbers were chosen by a player at Allapattah’s Miami Food Store, 1801 NW 17th Ave. and the Quick Pick spitting lottery machines at a Hialeah Presidente Supermarket, 1060 W. 29th St.; and a Lake Park 7-Eleven, 1220 U.S. 1.

That three-way split left every ticket worth $42,066, creating the rarity of the Fantasy 5 midday jackpot winner taking more than the evening draw winners. A player at Stop N Go Liquors, 1461 W. Boynton Beach Blvd. in Boynton Beach chose 5, 9, 11, 14 and 20, picks worth $63,566.

These tickets must be cashed at one of the nine Florida Lottery district offices throughout the state. Appointments can be made, but aren’t required. The Miami-Dade locations are closest to the office in Miami Lakes, 14621 Oak Ln., which can be emailed at MIARC@flalottery.com and called at 305-364-3080. The office in Palm Beach County is in the town of Palm Springs, 4360 Forest Hill Blvd. and can be reached at WPBRC@flalottery.com or 561-640-6190.
