A Florida player won $1 million in Saturday’s Powerball drawing
The holiday shopping season’s Small Business Saturday became Big Winner Saturday for Florida Lottery draw game players at a Publix, a 7-Eleven, a gas station and a drive-thru liquor store.
Nobody got the Florida Lotto, Cash4Life or Powerball top prizes, the last of which will be at $740 million on Monday’s drawing.
But, a Quick Pick player at Thorntons gas station, 425 E. Brandon Blvd. in metropolitan Tampa’s Brandon area, did get the first five Powerball numbers of 19, 22, 30, 32 and 59. That was good enough for the second tier prize of $1 million.
The Fantasy 5 evening drawing came up 8, 14, 26, 27, 35, a combination on three tickets: Tubby’s Drive-Thru liquor store, 6980 W. McNab Rd. in Tamarac; a Quick Pick ticket from Publix at 5893 SE Federal Hwy. in Stuart; and a free Quick Pick ticket from the 7-Eleven at 38409 U.S. 27 in Davenport. Each ticket is worth $40,244.
These tickets must be redeemed at the Florida Lottery main office in Tallahassee or one of the nine district offices, such as the Tampa office in Centerpoint Business Park just 6 miles east of the Thornton’s, or the office in Miami Lakes, 14621 Oak Ln.
The Miami office, the only one in Miami-Dade or Broward, can be reached at MIARC@flalottery.com or 305-364-3080. Appointments can be made, but walk-ins are welcome. Most offices are open 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
