Tickets from a South Florida Publix and 7-Eleven split a lottery jackpot

Of the three big prizes won in Monday’s Florida Lottery draws, one was split between two South Florida players who didn’t have to buy their tickets.

Nobody won the Powerball jackpot, which will be $438 million on Wednesday. Someone in New York state won $1,000 a week for life from the Cash4Life drawing. The Fantasy 5 midday drawing got split between tickets bought at a Naples 7-Eleven, a Tampa gas station and two tickets from the same Fort Pierce Winn-Dixie.

As for the Fantasy 5 evening draw, it was a high number party: 17, 24, 25, 35, 36. That matched two free Quick Pick tickets, one from the Tamarac Publix at 5881 University Dr. and another from the Lake Park 7-Eleven at 1220 N. Federal Hwy. Each ticket is worth $53,489.

These tickets have to be cashed at one of the Florida Lottery offices, which are open 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The two offices in South Florida are in Miami Lakes and Palm Springs. The Miami Lakes office is at 14621 Oak Ln., and can be reached at MIARC@flalottery.com or 305-364-3080. The Palm Springs office is at 4360 Forest Hill Blvd., can be emailed at WPBRC@flalottery.com or called at 561-640-6190. Appointments aren’t required, but can be made.
