Lottery player turns free ticket into $127,000 jackpot prize at Florida Publix

A lucky Florida lottery player netted a jackpot win on a free ticket.

The winner hit the Fantasy 5 jackpot, winning $126,849.83 in the evening drawing, Saturday, Aug. 2, according to the Florida Lottery’s website.

The winning ticket, sold at a Publix Super Market in St. Petersburg, matched all five numbers. The winner hadn’t come forward as of Monday, Aug. 4, the lottery said.

The winning Fantasy 5 numbers were 1-17-18-22-32, results show. The ticket was a free quick pick, beating odds of 1 in 376,992 to snag the top prize, according to the lottery’s website.

Winners in Florida have 180 days from the draw date to claim prizes and are encouraged to sign the back of their tickets, the lottery’s website says.
