A $2 million Florida Lottery ticket was bought at a South Florida Publix

Shopping became a pleasure for a West Palm Beach Publix shopper when her $10 Florida Lottery scratch-off ticket buy turned into a $2 million hit.

Joan Gonzalez Tamarit, 26, bought a ticket in the Silver Streak game at the Southdale Shopping Center Publix, 828 Southern Blvd. She took the lump-sum single payment option of $1.195 million.

Scratch-off games accounted for 74% of lottery ticket sales in 2023-24, according to the Florida Lottery.
