Big lottery hits from a Miami area Publix ($1 million) and Presidente ($118,000)

Shopping trips turned into life-changing events for a couple of Miami area lottery players on a day of Mega Millions, Fantasy 5, Cash4Life and Jackpot Triple Play drawings.

A Quick Pick Cahs4Life ticket bought at the Hialeah Publix at 3339 W. 80th St. didn’t have the Cash Ball of 4, but did have 8, 11, 14, 36 and 51. That’s good for winning the $1,000 a week for life part of the game. The winner can choose to take that, $52,000 per year for life with a minimum of 20 years or a lump sum payment of $1 million.

These tickets can be cashed at the Florida Lottery main office in Tallahassee or one of the district offices, which are open 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. The office in Miami-Dade is only two miles from the Hialeah Publix, in Miami Lakes at 14621 Oak Ln. Appointments can be made, but aren’t necessary, by emailing MIARC@flalottery.com or calling 305-364-3080.
