Memorial scheduled for FIU President Gregory Wolfe
Florida International University pays tribute to its third president, Gregory Wolfe, who led the state school through some of its most momentous changes, with a remembrance and celebration event on Feb. 2.
During his tenure, from 1979 to 1986, Wolfe welcomed the first freshman class, dubbed “First-Class First Class,’ led the building of student housing and proved pivotal in pushing FIU to host cultural events.
Wolfe died Dec. 12. His memorial will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Mary Ann Wolfe Theater on FIU’s Biscayne Bay Campus, 3000 NE 151st St., North Miami. Parking will be available in Lot 1. Call 415-740-6520 to RSVP.
