Here’s a new way to reach our community: The Herald’s free Community Bulletin Board
In South Florida, there is no shortage of things to do and places to go, and Miami.com will always be a great source of all entertainment options.
From the Miami-Dade Youth Fair to the Calle Ocho festival to the Burger Bash-winning Israeli restaurant Motek Café, we’re everywhere South Floridians want to be.
And now we are excited to announce the launch of the Miami Herald’s Community Bulletin Board — the best source for community events. It features a new Community Events Listings section that allows you to post local happenings for free. That’s right, free.
This is how you can post your event: Go to our Community Marketplace. Click the “place ad” tab at the top right of the page, then select “classified.” After that, click the “announcements” tab and select “community events.” Follow the instructions to enter your event.
When placing your event, please remember to include the event name, date, time, place, and up to five lines of text describing the event at no charge. Anything over those five lines will be $1.50 per line per day.
Helping you connect with our community is important to us, and this new feature allows us to help you reach a wider audience.
At the Herald, we continue to look for ways to reach our community and provide important information that matters to South Floridians — and the Community Bulletin Board is only the latest example.
In early February, we launched our climate-change initiative “Stemming the Tide” thanks to donations to the Herald’s Impact Journalism Fund, which enhances our local news coverage through the support of the private sector.
With so many people and billions of dollars in real estate so close to the ocean, South Florida is one of the most vulnerable communities facing sea rise.
With this initiative, the Herald will be able to explore how our communities are getting ready for the challenges ahead. Sign up for our Stemming the Tide newsletter or check out the section’s Instagram page.
I encourage you to try out our new Community Bulletin Board and check out our climate change initiative, then let me know what you think. Like what you see? Have other suggestions for us? I want to hear from you and you can reach me at amena@miamiherald.com.
