Asian immigrants land in Palm Beach, a few miles from President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago

A group of immigrants of Asian decent were stopped by police after coming ashore in Palm Beach, police said.

Just before 10:50 a.m. Friday, police put out an alert that they were working “a possible immigrant landing” in the 900 block of North Ocean Boulevard. The group includes both women and men.

Police told WPTV-Channel 5 that 9 to 12 immigrants were on board the boat, and at least seven have been taken into custody.

The immigrants landed about five miles from President Donald Trump Mar-a-Lago Club. The president is expected to be arriving at his South Florida home on Friday.

In recent months, the Coast Guard has stopped two vessels traveling from the Bahamas to South Florida, leading to the arrests of three men accused of transporting a total of 26 Chinese passengers and one Bahamian, court records show.
