After spending two months in immigration detention, a seven-year-old girl was re-united with her mother at Miami-Dade airport, CNN reports.

According to the report, the mother, Buena Ventura Martin-Godinez, 29, had been staying in Miami with family, claiming asylum on May 1.

Her daughter, Janne Idali Godinez Martin, crossed the border with her father the following week, one day after Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced the zero tolerance policy that would separate children from their parents at the border.

The daughter and father were separated with the father heading to Atlanta and the daughter sent to Michigan.

On Sunday, after 2 months apart, the mother and the daughter were re-united. Pictures of the two embracing were posted on Twitter shortly after.
