Expert panel assembled for python premier

Everglades National Park Superintendent Pedro Ramos will join a panel of python experts Thursday for the premiere of a documentary detailing the rise of the slithery invader in South Florida.

Ramos, along with biologist and famed herpetologist Joe Wasilewski, Kristin Sommers, who oversees exotic species for Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, and Nature Conservancy associate director Kristina Serbesoff-King, will talk about the snakes following the premier of Exotic Invaders: Pythons in the Everglades, by former Herald reporter Oscar Corral.

The premier kicks off at 6 p.m. at the O Cinema in Miami Beach with a snake exhibit, followed by the movie and panel. The documentary will air at 8 p.m. Aug. 26 on WPBT2.
