‘Shark!’ Watch spooked swimmers scramble out of the water in Miami after seeing something

Swimmers at Haulover Park had quite the scare.

Video taken by a bystander on the shore shows a large, dark shadow in the shallows on Tuesday evening.

“Shark!” someone screams.

The shooter, Leandro Morán, told the Miami Herald people were freaking out and rushing to get out of the water at Haulover, between Bal Harbour and Sunny Isles Beach.

“The first thing people thought was that it was a shark,” he said. “When it lifted a part of its wing it looked even more like a [dorsal] fin. Only when you got up close could you see that it wasn’t.”

“Es una raya,” someone says in Spanish.

“Not a shark!” screams someone else.

The sizable fish turned out to be a harmless ray, which went on its merry way not realizing the chaos it had just caused.
