Alligator wrestler bitten mid-show at Miccosukkee Indian Village, report say
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded to a report of an alligator bite Monday at the Miccosukee Indian Village near Everglades National Park.
A man was taken to Kendall Regional Hospital in stable condition around 1:30 p.m., said Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Lt. Kristen Miller.
Local10 identified the victim as John Osceola, an alligator wrestler at the venue. He told the station he was wrestling the "Spike" the gator when he got bit. His hands were stuck in the gator's mouth for about 10 minutes as he urged the audience to stay calm.
The village on Tamiami Trail features alligator-wrestling shows, airboat rides and historic tours.
