Miami-Dade kids campaign for more recess with adorable drawings

When it comes to the fight for more recess in school, a group of Miami-Dade moms is giving kids the power of the crayon.

Four moms from Key Biscayne are collecting drawings and essays from kids across the county in a push to make recess a daily requirement in public schools. The women hope to present the adorable drawings to school board members and Superintendent Alberto Carvalho.

The school district already requires recess at least twice a week, but it’s not enough for these kids. Here’s what they have to say about free time to play:
