Somerset Academy in South Miami back to normal after a morning bomb threat

Students at Somerset Academy Charter School in South Miami as well as people in surrounding businesses were evacuated Thursday morning while a bomb threat was checked out by Miami-Dade police.

By 11:50 a.m., the area was cleared and classes had resumed. Miami-Dade police said the threat came from an anonymous call. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue’s call list said the “explosive alert” situation began at 9:42 a.m.
