Miami-Dade County has a new school superintendent. Jose Dotres was hired by the School Board to replace Alberto Carvalho, who is heading to L.A.
Dotres is a longtime Miami-Dade educator who is now a deputy superintendent in Collier County. The board hired him at the end of an eight-hour meeting. Members had interviewed the three final candidates for the job.
