Palmer Trinity science department chair’s climate-education curriculum is honored
Palmer Trinity School
Traci Holstein, the Palmer Trinity School science department chair, has been recognized as the 2021 Global Expression and Thought High School Level Faculty Prizer winner by the Global Education Benchmark Group.
The Global Education Benchmark Group is an organization composed of more than 280 K-12 schools across 15 countries that researches and establishes best practices in the field of global education.
Holstein received the award for her distinguished global curriculum, “Climate Change: Reaching Out and Teaching About.
“I am grateful to have been recognized in the pursuit of providing our students with every opportunity to grow into globally aware young adults,” Holstein said.
“We are so proud of Traci and the outstanding curriculum she has designed to help our students become thoughtful global citizens,” said Patrick Roberts, Head of School at Palmer Trinity. “It is an honor to have had her recognized for her work by an organization like GEBG.”
Redland Middle School
Miami-Dade County Public Schools, the College Football Playoff Foundation and the 2021 College Football Playoff National Championship Game Host Committee unveiled a new media center at Redland Middle School, complete with virtual reality equipment, roaming desks, a robotics section, a new Promethean board and more than a dozen computer stations.
“It’s beautiful! They remodeled it and made everything look better. When you come in here, it looks like it’s part of a new fancy tech high school,” said eighth-grader Gregory Worcester, who gave greetings on behalf of students at the ceremony.
School for Advanced Studies Homestead
Luke Fourie, a graduating senior at the School for Advanced Studies in Homestead, has been named a candidate for the 2021 U.S. Presidential Scholars Program. The candidates were selected from nearly 3.6 million students expected to graduate from U.S. high schools in the year 2021.
The U.S. Presidential Scholars Program recognizes the most distinguished graduating seniors for their accomplishments in areas including academic success, leadership and service to school and greater community. A distinguished panel of educators will review these submissions and select approximately 600 semi-finalists in early April. The Commission on Presidential Scholars, a group of up to 32 eminent citizens appointed by the president, will select the finalists, and the U.S. Department of Education will announce the Scholars in May.
Ayala Royal Ballet
Ayala Royal Ballet teaches students from ages 3-19 in ballet, hip-hop, flamenco, and gymnastics. The objective of Ayala Royal Ballet is to allow students of all ages, different backgrounds and nationalities to perfect the art of dance.
Ayala Royal Ballet is delighted to announce their Studio Company Summer Intensive, a summer program of comprehensive training in classical ballet, for students 3-17 years old. Ayala Royal Ballet operates three locations: Brickell, Miami Beach and Bal Harbour.
