15-year-old didn’t want to go to school, MDCPS says. Now, she’s charged with a felony.

A 15-year-old student’s Tuesday night social media post turned into a Wednesday morning felony charge, Miami-Dade County Public Schools said Wednesday.

The post named South Dade Senior High School as the target. Miami-Dade Schools police tracked the post to a 15-year-old girl, who was arrested on a charge of written threat to kill or do bodily harm.

An email from an MDCPS spokesperson said, “Her motive for the post — she didn’t want to go to school.”

Last week, South Dade High went on lockdown after several people called 911 after seeing Homestead resident Christian Edinger drive past with an AR-15, an arrest report said. Edinger was arrested for improperly exhibiting a firearm.
