Cruise line workers help spruce up Little Haiti elementary school
Royal Caribbean employees recently came together to help spruce up Jesse J. McCrary Jr. Elementary School in Little Haiti, as part of the company’s 21st annual Get Involved Volunteer Everywhere Day, a volunteer program that encourages employees to give back to the community.
The volunteers used about 5,000 gallons of paint to repaint the school and murals, planted 300 trees, and installed edible and butterfly gardens. In addition to 1,500 volunteers, participants included Richard Fain, CEO and chairman of Royal Caribbean, and Miami-Dade County Public Schools Superintendent Alberto Carvalho.
