A suspended Opa-locka officer was arrested over the weekend.

An Opa-locka police officer, already suspended from the department in a separate investigation, has been arrested and charged with battering his girlfriend.

Opa-locka City Manager David Chiverton said Dennis Horn, 30, was charged Saturday with aggravated battery after an altercation with the woman in a car outside an apartment building.

The fight began, according to police, after Horn and his girlfriend visited another Opa-locka cop working an off-duty job. After she got into the other officer’s vehicle and then returned to Horn, the two began to fight.

Horn’s girlfriend then called police. Horn was charged with aggravated battery.
