No word yet on the police helmet or bulletproof vest that sat in the Miami-Dade police car stolen from a South Dade driveway Monday. But Miami-Dade police say they’ve found the car submerged in a South Dade lake.

The lake’s at Southwest 336th Street and 192nd Avenue. The marked 2008 Crown Victoria’s last known stopping point was an officer’s driveway near Southwest 276th Street and 167th Avenue. She woke up Monday morning to find her driveway empty.

Police were still trying to extricate the car from the water as of 4:45 p.m. Tuesday.
