Suspect in Miami hit-and-run crash identified
Police have identified the suspect in a hit-and-run that hospitalized five people Saturday morning.
Jose Jaimez Calzadilla, 30, is accused of slamming a white Mercedes Benz SUV into an illegally parked blue Chevy Aveo parked in front the Three Fingers Lounge at 4368 NW 17th Ave.
Police said four of the Aveo’s five passengers had gone into the store and were getting back in the car when the SUV rear-ended it.
All five, three females and two males in their 20s, were injured and taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital. None were considered life-threatening. Police identified the victims as Perrisha Dominique Jean, 23; Marqwan Antonio Humphrey, 23; Shekita Lashawnda Frank, 25; Franeisha Tiffany Brown, 20; and Samuel Wellington Sweeting Jr., 25.
Witnesses told police that after the crash, Calzadilla stepped out of the SUV and said something to them before jumping back into the car and fleeing.
Cops later found the SUV with heavy front-end damage in the driveway of 1370 NW 43rd St. Police are still looking for Calzadilla.
