Miami police looking for driver in hit-and-run
Miami police are looking for the driver in a hit-and-run that sent four people to the hospital early Saturday morning.
Around 3:30 a.m., a Chevy Aveo with four people in their 20s parked in front of the Three Fingers Liquor and Lounge at 4368 NW 17th Ave. Two women and a man went inside and a man stayed in the car, which was parked in the right lane of southbound traffic.
The three came back out, and as they were about to get into the vehicle, a speeding white Mercedes SUV slammed into the back of the Aveo. The impact pushed the small sedan south about half a block.
The crash injured all four people. The man who’d been waiting in the Aveo was seriously hurt.
All four were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The SUV fled the scene. Cops later located the vehicle, but the driver had fled.
“We’re still investigating,” said Officer Rene Pimentel. “The driver has still not come forward, and we’re still looking for him.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
