Two men were attacked in a carjacking on Saturday night in Southwest Miami-Dade.

One man was shot and another pistol-whipped in a carjacking in Southwest Miami-Dade, police said Wednesday.

The incident started at a meeting “for unknown reasons” after 9 p.m. Tuesday at an abandoned home at 25356 SW 135th Ct, according to Miami-Dade police.

Three men then pulled guns and demanded the property of two other men. After the shooting and beating, the attackers stole money and took off in the victim’s rental car, a burgundy 2010 Fort Taurus.

“Why they met is still under investigation,” said police spokeswoman Robin Pinkard.

The men, identified as 44-year-old Frank Chuimi of Maitland and 40-year-old Charles Keutcha of Virginia, were shot in the arm and pistol-whipped on the head. They were taken to the hospital in stable condition, police said. One of the men was released and the other remains in Homestead Hospital.

The car was recovered early Wednesday. Police spotted the stolen car and followed. The driver refused to stop, traveled to Coral Gables, then exited and started running.

After a police chase involving the K-9 unit and a chopper, he was taken into custody at Riviera Drive and Cadagua Avenue in Coral Gables.

Deandre Johnson, 17, was charged with grand theft auto, and fleeing, eluding and resisting an officer without violence.

The other suspects are still on the loose, police said.
