Man who was shot after giving duo a ride to Kendall dies of wounds

Ryan Tolmos picked up two men in Wynwood early Saturday morning, drove them to his West Kendall home, then was shot several times before the men took off in his car, police said.

On Monday morning, Tolmos died, his car was still missing and police had released little information other than they were looking for a black, four-door Acura.

A neighbor who didn’t want to be identified told reporters that he heard the gunshots and then heard a knock at his door.

“When I looked out my door I saw a guy covered in blood that was pleading for help. I saw a victim that had multiple gunshot wounds,” the man told WSVN.

According to police, Tolmos, 28, drove his Acura to Wynwood around 5:30 a.m.. There, he picked up two men and made his way back to his home at Southwest 104th Avenue and 116th Street.

The trio went into the house. At some point Tolmos was shot several times and the men took off in his car. The neighbor called 911 and Tolmos was airlifted to Kendall Regional Medical Center, where he died of his injuries Monday morning.

Anyone with information is urged to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
