Miami Police are looking for multiple suspects who assaulted and then shot a man early Saturday morning, officials said.
The man, who police identified as someone “in his 20s,” was was found laying on the ground near the 900 block of Southwest 5th Street after being shot multiple times. Police responded to the call at 4:30 a.m., after a 911 caller reported shots fired and a man suffering from gun shot wounds.
“He was alert and conscious when we found him,” said Kenia Fallat, a Miami Police spokeswoman, but Miami Fire Rescue transported the man to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center where he is currently listed in stable condition.
Detectives believe the shooters first confronted the victim near the 1000 block of Southwest 4th Street where they pointed guns at the man and struck him “numerous times” before fleeing. According to Police, the victim ran away from the initial scene and collapsed on Southwest 5th Street.

Miami Police are still looking for a motive to explain the attack and shooting.
