Father and son found shot dead in Westchester home

Miami-Dade police officers called to a Westchester home Monday morning found a father and a son shot to death.

Police released little information, but said they were called to a home at 1421 SW 82nd Ct. just after 9 a.m. Once there, they found the men dead of apparent gunshot wounds.

They were identified as Alfonso Rafael, 85, and Alfonso Rafael Jr., 56.

Police believe it was a murder-suicide, but are awaiting the Miami-Dade County medical examiner’s report before issuing a definitive statement.

Detectives were working on forensics Monday and trying to find potential witnesses.
