Police are searching for two armed men who killed a mother of three inside her Northwest Miami-Dade home on Tuesday morning.
The masked men stormed into the home at 2443 NW 90th St. around 8 a.m according to detectives, and began shooting. The woman, who was hit multiple times, died before help could arrive.
The woman’s brother, who raced to her home when he heard what had happened, identified her as 38-year old Octavia Jones.
“She was a wonderful person, she never got into any trouble, she had a nine to five job and I don’t understand why this happened,” Namor Jones said. “She was a loving, caring mom. She always came to you if you needed help or anything.”

Jones said he’s trying to remain strong for his family.
“What’s going through my mind? God. That’s the only thing going through my mind. It keeps me sane and stable, to stand here and be able to hold my mom when she cries. I can’t be the guy that is falling down and crying, my mom needs somebody to hold on to,” Jones said.
Jones said two years ago he lost another sister violently. She died after she was stabbed more than 50 times by a neighbor.
“I thought about my other sister, right away, the one that got stabbed up in Miramar. I thought about her immediately. It just brought back bad memories.”
Jones said his sister’s boyfriend was in the home at the time of the shooting but was not hurt. Her three children range in age from 9 to 20 years old.
Anyone with information on this shooting is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS (8477).
