A man is facing a first-degree murder charge after stabbing another man to death in Pompano Beach on Tuesday night, the Broward Sheriff’s Office said.

BSO deputies and paramedics with Pompano Beach Fire Rescue found the victim around 7 p.m. near the 2500 block of East Atlantic Boulevard. He had multiple stab wounds, the sheriff’s office said.

Paramedics took him to Broward Health North, where he died, according to the sheriff’s office.

The suspect, 67-year-old David Rice, left the area after the stabbing, but homicide detectives found him, the sheriff’s office said.

He was booked into Broward County’s Main Jail on premeditated murder and trespassing charges and is being held without bond pending trial, according to corrections records. Information about his legal counsel was not immediately available.

The sheriff’s office asks anyone with information about the crime to call 954-493-8477.
