Ride-service driver and passenger are shot in Miami, police say
A ride-service driver and his passenger were shot in Miami late Friday night, according to police.
At around 10:10 p.m., police received a ShotSpotter alert at Northwest Second Avenue and 38th Street. The driver, who had been shot in the shoulder, drove to Northwest Fifth Avenue and 46th Street, about a mile away, before calling police, investigators say.
The driver and passenger, who was grazed by a bullet, were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital.
While on the way to the call, a Miami Police sergeant was involved in a crash with a car that ran a stop sign. The sergeant's car overturned. He was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital but is expected to be fine.
Information on the shooter has yet to be released by police. No arrest has been made.
