Miami-Dade pastor is jailed for sexually abusing a child, sheriff’s office says

A Miami-Dade pastor has been jailed on charges of sexually abusing a child, according to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office.

Elie Dorcius, 62, was arrested on Tuesday after a 33-year-old woman came forward alleging that Dorcius had sexually abused her when she was 5 years old and continued to do so over several years of her childhood.

The woman said that between the third and seventh grades, Dorcius repeatedly exposed himself to her and “forced her to engage” in sexual acts, according to the sheriff’s office.

Dorcius is a pastor at Unity Haitian Baptist, located at 1527 NW 119th Street, according to a 2025 Miami Baptist Association directory.

He is charged with engaging in sexual acts with a child, lewd and lascivious molestation of a child under 12 and indecent exposure.

Jail records show that Dorcius is being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on no bond as of Wednesday.
