Burglars drive truck into Miami-Dade cellphone store in smash and grab
Burglars used a pickup truck to smash through the front entrance of a cellphone store in Northeast Miami-Dade early Wednesday, police said.
Employees at the T-Mobile store, 1203 NE 163rd St., spent the early hours combing through the mess to determine what was stolen.
Officers were dispatched to a burglar alarm and when they got to the store they noticed the front of the store had been smashed and the inside ransacked, said Miami-Dade police spokeswoman Detective Marjorie Eloi.
The burglars stole about $12,000 in phones, and other electronics, police said. A witness told investigators that a gray Fort pickup truck sped away before police arrived, heading north on Northeast 12th Avenue.
